Joji has a crisis when a fog arrives in the village and settles in his farmer's hot bath tub. Joji cannot save the rice plants if the fog continues to block the sun which they need to grow.
The crows think of a plan to get the fog out of the bathtub. Joji agrees, even though he must risk his life (and his straw) by climbing into the tub with the fog and pulling the plug.
The fog takes off in a fury, and the crows stuff Joji with fresh straw. The farmer is very proud of Joji and rewards him with a new hat.
But one day while the farmer was gone,
a fearsome fog floated over the farmyard,
breathing his foggy breath
on Joji and the crows
and all the young rice plants
From his long foggy nose to his long foggy toes
he was the most frightful fog
that Joji had ever met.
